01Who We Are
Data Controller: Journday, operated by the Journday Team (app@journday.com). Journday is a pre-launch news application. This Privacy Policy applies to data collected through the website journday.com and its waitlist registration form.
02What Data We Collect
We currently collect only the following personal data:
- Email address — voluntarily provided when you submit the waitlist form.
- Approximate date and time of submission, recorded automatically by our form processor.
We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment information, or any sensitive personal data at this stage. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools on this website.
03Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)
We process your email address on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given at the time you submit the waitlist form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at app@journday.com.
04Purpose of Processing
Your email address is collected exclusively to:
- Notify you when Journday launches or enters public beta.
- Send you occasional updates about product development, if you have consented.
We will not use your email for any other purpose without requesting additional, specific consent.
05Data Retention
We retain your email address for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. If Journday does not launch within this period, all collected data will be deleted.
06Data Sharing and Third Parties
Your data is processed and stored via Google Sheets (Google Ireland Ltd.), our data management service. Google acts as a data processor; data may be stored on servers in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.
07Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction (Art. 18) — request that we limit how we process your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali — garanteprivacy.it.
08Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Email addresses are stored by Google Sheets using industry-standard security practices. As a pre-launch product, we handle minimal data and limit access to the data controller only.
09Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted data without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Any material changes will be communicated via the email address you have provided. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
